Re-paving Better Roads for the South Shore.
Councilmen Ignizio, Oddo and Mitchell are pleased to report a victory in securing additional paving operations for the Borough and an additional funding to expand capacity this fall and next spring. The members of Staten Island’s City Council delegation were able to secure $2 million to increase the number of lane/miles paved in the upcoming fiscal year. It is important to note that this money is in addition to the Department of Transportation’s annual paving operating budget.
This summer, crews will also continue to pave Richmond Avenue from Amboy Road to Hylan Blvd. In addition, Councilman Ignizio is also working with the Department of Transportation to maintain an active schedule of contracted paving projects on the Island’s arterials.
