Autism’s Growing Need on the South Shore
Continuing the extraordinary tradition of Mount Loretto
Keeping with Mt. Loretto’s historical past, Councilman Ignizio has for the fifth year in a row funded the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin’s special needs after school program and summer camp. Each summer the camp hosts more than one hundred children on their grounds for 2 weeks. After a long a difficult school year, these campers can swim in an Olympic-sized swimming pool, roam around the aquatic playground, and enjoy a large array of sports and games.
GRACE Foundation to Receive Major Grant
Councilman Vincent Ignizio is pleased to announce a $50,000 dollar grant to Staten Island’s GRACE foundation, which is a non profit organization established to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders. This group strives to ease the burden of this disorder by working with special needs children on social skills through formal instruction and organized recreation.
